Important eTA Application Information

eTA Does NOT Guarantee Entry

⚠ Critical: eTA is NOT a Visa

A valid eTA allows you to board a flight to Canada and enter Canada by air. HOWEVER, it does not guarantee entry. A border services officer has final authority to admit or deny you entry based on your admissibility. You must be prepared to answer questions and demonstrate the purpose of your visit.

Responsibility for Decisions

  • All eTA approvals and denials are made by the Canadian government
  • We cannot influence Canadian government decisions
  • We are not responsible for application outcomes
  • All border admission decisions are made by Canadian border officers

Honest Information Requirement

You must provide honest, truthful information in your eTA application. Providing false information is:

  • A criminal offense in Canada
  • Grounds for eTA denial
  • Grounds for permanent entry ban to Canada
  • Possible cause for legal prosecution
